The Kenyan government alongside the UK government have agreed to evacuate Kenyans residing in the UK following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Kenyan High Commissioner in London, Manoah Esipisu, says the Kenya Airways will operate a flight from London to Nairobi for stranded Kenyans in the UK on Friday July 19th.
Three special Kenya Airways flights had been arranged in May and early June 2020 to to fly back home stranded Kenyans in the UK through the support of both the UK and the Kenyan Governments.
“The Kenya High Commission in London is pleased to inform Kenyans living in the United Kingdom (UK) that arising from the travel restrictions imposed due to Covid 19, three special Kenya Airways flights have successfully been arranged in May and early June 2020,” he said.
The flight KQ 103 destined to Nairobi from London will depart London Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 on Friday, June 19 2020, 11.00am local time and arrive Nairobi at 21.35 hrs Nairobi time the same day.
“The flight has now been loaded on the Kenya Airways booking system and is available for sale on a first come first served basis,” added Esipisu, through the Kenya High Commissioner in UK website.
However, before boarding the flight, every passenger is required to have a COVID-19 free certificate with the test certificate being acquired within 7 days of departure; Passengers will be subjected to the 14-28 days mandatory quarantine period imposed by the Kenyan government at their own cost in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
